I love QuarkXpress and I'm well-versed in what I call round-tripping -- making information look the same on the Web, in PowerPoint or in PDF. I've handled all kinds of user manuals, newsletters, brochures and takeaway materials -- you know, the standard technical writer stuff. Illustrated above is the deliverable from an information architecture assignment. I was tasked with planning a 20,000-user corporate intranet that ran on a BEA WebLogic portal. I delivered a functional HTML mockup Web site, and the 124-page book complete with infographics (illustrated above) in 51 days. The client was a major financial institution headquartered in Virginia.
