convert what you loveinto a wayof making a living

actually a pretty snappy read

From 1994 to 1996, I worked on a detective novel set in Heaven. Made it through seven drafts, put it away for awhile, and continued to brush it up for years.

In October, 2001 I got a pleasant email from J. Neil Schulman, a writer of some note (details) and he told me he had published a novel under the same name. He even sent me a copy.

When I read it, I was struck by the similarities, and even though I truthfully liked my book better (mine had far more sex), I promised him I'd update this page, that I'd stop plugging my work, and that I would, in fact, plug his. Hey, he got it published first. Good for him.

I'm currently working on other projects, and if this book ever makes its way to the thinly sliced-tree phase, it will be under another title. It's not a legal thing, it's a class thing, and I wish Mr. Schulman well.

This page is not available from any link on my site, and is here to clear up confusion that could be caused by search engine results.
