
QuarkXpress stayed in Version 3.x seemingly forever. It's intuitive, rock solid and just plain beautiful,.
This is, of course, an odd thing for a Web guy to say,. and I have to admit I've used it primarily to produce PDFs for downloading, so I'm no expert on pre-press matters and halftones. Hell, when I started in graphic design, we were messing around with Veloxes.
Point is, it's handy to know desktop publishing, too. Especially when you can round-trip the information and make it look the same in Web, print or PowerPoint.
